Suffering from the Winter Blues?

Suffering from the “winter blues” also known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is common this time of year. So where does it come from? How do we help ourselves through what feels like a long dark dreary winter for SAD sufferers? Undoubtedly, the cold weather forces us to bunker down, be less active, and eat more comfort foods. All of these behaviors contribute to feeling blah. We get it, cozying up in bed until winter is over may be a preferred method when you are suffering from SAD, but the best way to overcome is to get out in the sun as much as possible. Besides it’s like they say “it is the cold of winter that really brings the sweetness and warmth to summer.”
