What is Neuroinclusive DBT?

Dialectical behavior therapy can sometimes have a reputation of being a strict and somewhat inflexibility modality. That strictness and inflexibility can make spaces feel less accessible to neurodivergent clients with communication and care needs that differ from neurotypical clients. In taking the neurodiversity paradigm seriously and committing to neuroinclusive care, the DBT program at Growth Thru Change is designed to meet individual clients—neurodivergent or neurotypical—where they’re at, providing a shared group experience accessible to all.

Led by subject matter experts in issues related to LGBTQIA+ identity and care, the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program at Growth Thru Change is designed with all of the above in mind. We understand that the mental and behavioral health struggles faced by members of LGBTQIA+ communities are not the result of any particular identities, but are instead most often a consequence of the negative reception of those identities in less-than-affirming environments.


What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)?

It’s understandable when these factors lead to significant distress, having an impact not just on our personal, social, and professional lives, but also on our health and overall well-being.
