FAQs About Therapy

General Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We offer both in-network and out-of-network options depending on the clinician you choose. Some of our providers are in-network with Aetna, while others operate on an out-of-network basis. For out-of-network clients, we partner with Mentaya to help simplify the reimbursement process, making it easier for you to access therapy while receiving potential reimbursement from your insurance provider. If you have Aetna coverage and would like to work with an in-network clinician, please let us know, and we’ll direct you to the appropriate provider.

Starting therapy is a personal decision, and feeling unsure is completely normal. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or any challenging emotions, therapy can help you work through these experiences. It’s about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space to understand what’s holding you back and finding ways to move forward.

Therapy is individualized—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some clients come for a few months to address specific challenges, while others engage in longer-term therapy to work through deeper issues. Most clients attend weekly or biweekly sessions. Together, we’ll create a plan that works for your goals and schedule.
Your first session is an opportunity to connect with your therapist, share what’s bringing you to therapy, and discuss your goals. We’ll also explore your past experiences and answer any questions you have about the process. Everything you share is confidential, except in cases where safety is a concern. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Yes, therapy is a safe and confidential space. We follow strict guidelines to protect your privacy. The only exceptions are situations involving risks to your safety or the safety of others, which we’ll always discuss with you upfront.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. Our team of experienced clinicians offers diverse specialties and approaches. You can explore our therapist bios or schedule a free consultation to find the best match for your needs. We’re happy to guide you in selecting someone who feels like the right fit.

We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. We’ll work with you to find a time that fits your schedule.

Therapy provides a safe space to explore the root causes of anxiety and depression while offering practical tools to manage symptoms. Our therapists use proven techniques like DBT and EMDR to help you regain control, improve your emotional well-being, and feel more confident in your everyday life.

DBT is an evidence-based therapy designed to help manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthy coping strategies. It’s especially effective for individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation or unhealthy patterns.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a powerful tool for healing trauma. It helps you process distressing memories in a safe and structured way, reducing their emotional hold on you. Many clients find EMDR transformative for their mental health.
