Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
I emphasize attuning to the mind-body connection, habituating to feelings of vulnerability and integrating disparate parts of the psyche to guide clients towards living more conscious and intentional lives. I believe that the most effective way to heal old wounds and develop new strengths is through the dynamic that plays out in the therapeutic relationship, which has the power to become a vehicle for deep insight and transformation.
My practice is informed by psychodynamic theory, which means I understand the role of early life experiences and relationships on the patterns we form later. Our unique histories compound to create the fabric of our character structure. In some ways these structures may advance us through life and in other ways may hold us back.
I work with adolescents through adulthood with individuals who have a history of trauma, who may be facing major life transitions, struggling with anxiety and depression. I welcome couples into my space who may be dealing with relationship discord or who want to explore their full potential. I experienced working with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I practice Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP) for OCD and take expert care in helping my clients face and overcome what they fear most.
I hold a B.A. in Written Arts from Bard College, a B.A. in Applied Psychology from the City University of New York, and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I have additional training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
